Advocacy & Impact
Advancing Liberation Through Healing, Policy, and Power
Nala’s work spans health, policy, global diaspora movements, and spiritual leadership—grounded in ancestral wisdom and systems transformation through care, creativity, and coalition-building.
🌍 Reuniting of African Descendants (ROAD)
Founder & Organizer
Nala founded ROAD in 2018—a global trans-led initiative that repairs the spiritual and material fractures caused by colonialism, anti-Blackness, and transphobia. ROAD is a vessel for ancestral reconnection and Afro-diasporic solidarity, centering Black trans women, migrants, and people of faith.
Key Impact:
🧺 Launched mutual aid efforts across the U.S. and Africa
🌱 Facilitated land acquisition for trans women in Uganda during COVID-19
✨ Created sacred spaces for prayer, ritual, and organizing
ROAD is more than a nonprofit—it’s a spiritual movement rooted in love, land, and liberation. Through it, Nala cultivates sustainable strategies for survival and sovereignty.
